Have you ever been part of a book club? Well, we are! In book clubs, we each read the assigned chapter of the same book. Then, we get together to talk about it. We get to share our thinking about the book. Mrs. Freeman gives us questions to think about and talk about, like "Is this character a good friend?", "What surprised us in the story?", and "What would we do if we were in the story?" We like it because we get to have more ideas when we get together with our partners. Reading helps us grow ideas!
Each day, in Reading Workshop, we try to read a little bit longer. We call this building our stamina. The first day, we read for 10 minutes. The second day, we read for 15 minutes. Today was our fifth day of Reading Workshop, and we read for twenty-seven whole minutes. We can't wait to see how long we read tomorrow!

AuthorThis blog is maintained as a collaboration between all students and myself. Each week, one student has the classroom job of "Blogger". That student helps decide subjects for our posts, as well as writing one blog post about him/herself. Archives
